First Semester

The Fundamentals of Nursing course is a comprehensive course designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills essential to meeting the basic needs of any patient. Material from related subjects will be integrated content. Principles and rationales that are foundation for nursing care will be emphasized, thus, enabling the student to develop skills to make appropriate nursing judgments. The nursing process format will be utilized to enable the student to develop a systematic and organized method of implementing basic nursing care. A theoretical base, individualized demonstration of technique, practice, and demonstration return in a supervised laboratory setting. The clinical experience is gained by caring for patients in the cooperative health care facilities under the guidance and supervision of the clinical instructor.
