Maternal and Child Nursing I will provide a basic theoretical background on which the student can utilize the nursing process to assist, to assess, to plan and implement and to assist to evaluate nursing care during pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum, including newborn and family care. Family dynamics as related to the obstetrical experience and aftercare will be explored. Content is organized moving from normal to deviations from normal. Principles of pharmacology and growth and development are integrated in this course.
