This course is designed to develop a knowledge
base of the language of medicine. Emphasis is placed on the spelling,
pronunciation, and analysis of word elements and terms relating to anatomy,
physiology, diagnosis, pathology, procedures, abbreviations, and symptomatic
terms that assist the student in a communicative application to each system and
medical specialty. Also included in this course of study are the technical
methods of communication used by healthcare professionals.
